The Golden Circle in Iceland is one of the most popular tourist routes. It includes three of Iceland's most popular attractions: Thingvellir National Park, Geysir geothermal area, and Gullfoss Waterfall. 00:00 Intro 01:00 Silfra Snorkel On day 2 of our Iceland road trip, we started off by visiting Thingvellir National Park. It takes about 45 minutes to get there from Reykjavik. The park's location is between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. We did an absolutely fantastic snorkeling tour at Silfra. Silfra is the crack in the Earth created by the two tectonic plates. The water is so clear at Silfra because it is filtered through underground lava rocks. We used the company, Dive.is and they provided us with a guide, all of the equipment and suits, and entrance into Thingvellir National Park. The water was about 4 degrees Celsius, but the wetsuits did a great job keeping us protected. This is an experience that we highly recommend while in Iceland. It is so unique and enjoyable. https://www.thingvellir.is/en/ https://www.dive.is/ 14:12 Geysir After leaving Thingvellir National Park, we made our second Golden Circle stop at the Geysir geothermal area. Once we arrived, we had lunch in the cafe and then headed out to see the geysers. The original geyser, Geysir, is dormant, but another geyser named Strokkur erupts every few minutes. While we were there we got to experience this several times. It was spectacular being able to be so close to Strokkur while it was erupting. We spent some time wandering around to see the other hot springs, but we definitely spent the majority of our time in awe of Strokkur. https://www.hotelgeysir.is/geysir-center 17:06 Gullfoss Waterfall The third and final stop of the Golden Circle is to visit Gullfoss Waterfall. Gullfoss means golden falls and it gets the name because of the golden color that often appears in the glacial water. The waterfall is considered to be one of Iceland's most beautiful waterfalls. It is quite a wonderful waterfall and should not be missed while in Iceland. https://gullfoss.is/ 18:42 Day 3 Sneak Peak 18:59 Outtakes After spending an incredible day driving around the Golden Circle in Iceland, we were in awe of Iceland's beauty. We felt so lucky to get to experience Iceland's most popular attractions. #Iceland #GoldenCircle Travel Vlog #67 | Golden Circle - Iceland | Filmed September 2021 Epidemic Sound: After Sun by Nihoni Astral Roar by Lama House Daydream by Luwaks Lepiten Falls by Ooyy Timeless Clouds by Luwaks _____________________________ ABOUT US Hi everyone!
