"Using Pain for Motivation" We see Rocky Putting Ivan Drago picture on his mirror to keep reminding him of the pain that Drago caused him and to Channel pain as a motivator. Channeling pain for motivation is a powerful tool to push you to focus and push harder. Because the motive for us to avoid pain can sometime be larger than the motive to gain pleasure. In Islam, true repentance only comes from truly regretting our sins and then letting that pain that it caused us to motivate us to do more good in order to wipe our previous wrong doings. Sometimes the solution to gain motivation is to channel more pain instead of trying to avoid it. "Mental Toughness" The level of relentlessness that we see in Rocky's fight against Drago was to an extent that his opponent said Rocky is not human…he's a piece of iron. In life we have to be like iron towards our goals. No matter how many obstacles we face we have to keep ducking the punches and keep charging. The movie Rocky is just a metaphor for how the boxing sport is similar to life challenges where we have to keep ducking or taking the punches of life and keep charging towards our goals in order to win the rounds of life. "Standing Up for Your Beliefs" At the end of the fight Rocky said that when he was walking towards the ring he was getting booed by the crowed. He said he didn't know how to feel about it but he didn't like them anyways. But later during the fight he noticed that the way he felt about the crowed started changing and also noticed the way the crowed felt about him started changing. and the he said" If I can change, and you can change, then everybody can change!". Such a powerful message of hope. To always have hope that people can change for the better. Whether it be racial issues that we are facing or any other type of discrimination. Change can only happen when the people who believe in equality actually STAND for equality instead of turning a blind eye for equality.
