Cello + guitar cover of "Take on Me" by a-ha, inspired by Ellie's acoustic version from The Last of Us Part II. Shot in Edmonton, Canada where the actual HBO show was filmed. 🎧 Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/album/1VHm9oeXv26WeypkkQySrP David and I were getting together to record our arrangement of the main theme from The Last of Us when he brought up the idea of recreating this intimate acoustic version of "Take on Me" that Ellie sings in the second game. If you've heard any of my pop covers then you know I love putting a slow, sad spin on upbeat tunes so this was right up my alley. I'm also a sucker for a detailed solo guitar accompaniment, and we had a great time figuring out how to make both parts pair naturally. Thanks to The Butternut Tree restaurant for letting us film in their gorgeous space with this amazing view of the Alberta Legislature building, the actual filming location for the ending of episode 2 of "The Last of Us." https://thebutternuttree.ca Thanks as well to our friend Justin Khuong from Bardic Form for lending David this beautiful Taylor guitar to record and film with! https://bardicform.com David Jay 📺 YouTube: @DavidJayTheSpaniard 📸 Instagram: https://instagram.com/davidjaythespaniard 👍 Facebook: https://facebook.com/davidjaythespaniard Nicholas Yee 🪶 My Second Channel: @NotesWithNicholas 🎧 Spotify: https://nicholasdyee.com/spotify 🍏 Apple: https://nicholasdyee.com/applemusic 📸 Instagram: https://instagram.com/nicholasdyee 🕊️ Twitter: https://twitter.com/nicholasdyee 👍 Facebook: https://facebook.com/nicholasdyee
