A history of the evangelization of Scandinavia, focused on the structuring of the political-territorial power of the northern monarchies in parallel with that of the local ecclesiastical administration. In the video we talk about the German missions from the archdiocese of Hamburg-Bremen, the difficulties posed by the Viking raids and the final creation of the archdioceses of Lund, Uppsala, in Norway, etc. thanks to the alliance of the Reformed Papacy and the Scandinavian monarchies. Among other things we talk about the strong continuity that existed in this process with the ancient pagan traditions reflected in the Norse sagas in the permanent tragic conception of the destiny of the world, which made the progress of evangelization and structuring of territorial powers particularly slow, especially in Sweden.
