He lived in Maryland in the United states before moving to Ghana. He is influenced by an array of different sounds which you can hear in his music. His main goal is to show the next generation that you can achieve anything if you put the work in trust your energy and hopes to create a lane of African music because he knows there are sounds in Africa yet to be explored. Skills supports creativity and experimentation a lot. Music has been his calling from a very young age, with his CD player always being his best friend. He spends most of his time working for music or working on music Skillz has also been able to make a platform for himself in Ghana collaborating with such big names such as Joey B, Kwesi Arthur, medikal & also features as a trace Ghana ambassador. Skillz 8Figure has it all in abundance in his new single “Properly” featuring Sierra Leone legend Arkman With his previous project “Gangsta Luv” EP which arguably was one of his best projects to drop early this year, making good numbers and breathing new air within a grown fan base. The six song project is heavily influenced by groovy mid-tempo beats with trapsoul melodies which still feels African. He calls his music Coastal music, which is a blend of all sorts of genres from Ghana and Africa. Skillz’s song ‘Kolo’ which’s track 2 on his ‘Gangster Luv’ EP made the track-list of Tiffany Calver’s ‘African Arising Mix’ on BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra.
